SIPP Pipe Lining
Semtex Trenchless Solutions provides spray-in-place pipe (SIPP) lining for selected steel, concrete and other compatible pipelines in commercial, industrial, marine and offshore environments.
SIPP involves cleaning and preparing the internal pipe surface before applying a resin, epoxy, polymer or protective coating in controlled passes. Depending on the selected material and thickness, the system can provide corrosion protection, sealing, surface restoration and, in some applications, structural enhancement.
Our capabilities include:
Internal centrifugal pipe spraying
Plural-component epoxy application
100% solids high-build coating systems
Single- and multi-coat lining systems
Corrosion- and chemical-resistant coatings
Coating of straight pipe, spools, bends and fittings
Industrial, marine and offshore pipeline rehabilitation
Controlled wet- and dry-film thickness
Environmental monitoring and quality-assurance records
Holiday testing and coating inspection where specified
Specialist spray equipment
We operate specialist WIWA plural-component spray equipment and internal centrifugal pipe-spraying systems. The equipment meters and mixes the resin components at the specified ratio and delivers the material to a rotating spray head, which distributes the coating around the full circumference of the pipe.
Application variables such as material flow, spinner speed, pull speed, coating temperature, number of passes and cure conditions are controlled to achieve the specified coverage and dry-film thickness.
Surface preparation
The performance of a spray-applied lining depends heavily on surface preparation. Depending on the substrate and coating specification, preparation may include high-pressure or ultra-high-pressure water cleaning, abrasive blasting, mechanical grinding, removal of corrosion and failed coatings, degreasing, drying and creation of the required surface profile.
Quality control
Project quality controls may include material batch and mixing records, ambient and substrate temperature, humidity, dew point, surface-profile checks, salt-contamination testing, wet-film thickness, dry-film thickness, adhesion testing, visual inspection, holiday detection and cure verification.
Typical applications:
Corroded steel pipelines
Industrial process and service-water pipework
Offshore and marine pipe systems
Ballast and cooling-water pipelines
Fire-protection pipework
Wastewater and aggressive-service pipelines
Pipe spools, bends and fabricated sections
Pipelines where full replacement would be difficult or disruptive
