Pipe End Seals

Semtex Trenchless Solutions installs pipe and liner end seals to create a secure, watertight transition between a new liner, the host pipe and the surrounding structure.

End sealing protects the exposed liner termination and helps prevent groundwater or pipeline contents from tracking between the liner and host pipe. The seal type is selected to suit the liner system, substrate, pipe diameter, groundwater conditions, chemical exposure and operating environment.

End seal systems may include:

  • Epoxy and resin-mortar seals

  • Hydrophilic sealing materials

  • Stainless-steel mechanical end seals

  • Compression and expanding rubber seals

  • Composite laminates and termination details

  • Chemical-resistant sealants

  • Manufacturer-specific liner termination systems

  • Engineered pressure-pipe end fittings and restraints

Purpose and performance

A correctly installed end seal can reduce infiltration and exfiltration, protect the liner edge from cleaning or operational damage, limit debris entry behind the liner and provide a durable transition at the end of the rehabilitated section.

Gravity CIPP liners may use resin, hydrophilic or mechanical end seals depending on the project. Pressure-pipe systems generally require engineered termination fittings or restraints that transfer internal pressure and axial loads safely into the existing pipeline or structure.

The host pipe and surrounding structure are cleaned and prepared before installation. The completed seal is visually inspected and, where required, incorporated into the final CCTV and quality-assurance documentation.
